Don’t get me wrong, I do love the micro-blogging site Twitter, it’s just that with so many people using this tool now, who the heck is listening.  I mean there are so many followers and users on Twitter now that as the number grows – I mean will anyone be heard?

If I look into Twitter’s future there will always be some users that are heard/read above others, however, I’m afraid that there will be so many people on Twitter soon that it will become a new kind of noise.  I mean if someone would cut through all the clutter I bet 3/4ths of the messages “tweeted” are absolutely uninteresting and I dare say worthless.

I do believe that Twitter is revolutionary and remarkable and yes that the inventor probably should be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize with how valuable the tool was last week regarding the protests in Iran.  Twitter, along with YouTube, were our ears and eyes into this country torn apart sans journalists.  This was citizen journalism at its best.

I do love Twitter for breaking news and for my work.  But other than that, I could care less if someone is at the car wash or what they are eating at the moment.  I censor what comes through to me pretty well and block out those foolish posts whenever possible.

But, with Twitter now a part of our everyday language, the number of people “tweeting” will grow astronomically.  With so many conversations going out how in the world will we learn anything.   The real news will just be drown out.

For the life of me I can’t understand how so many people think that their routine  happenings are interesting and worthwhile of a “tweet.”  Don’t get me wrong I love to converse, but there’s just some conversations I would never want to enter in.  And it’s like that with Twitter.  I do believe everyone needs an account, but not everyone needs to “tweet.”

I know it’s like a new flashy toy when you first get it and I realize that it wears off after a while, but something has to done at some point in time.  I mean can you imagine if everyone in the world was twittering?  If there was a conversation going on with the entire world at the same time.

My head hurts now and that would drive me off the edge, for sure.  I love news, information and facts but, do I have to hear about your lunch plans, what you just bought or a photo you took?  I just don’t care.  Send me useful information and I’ll RT it for you.
